A Roadmap to Resilient and Thriving Societies
[Tokyo, 01 March 2025] – Building on the insightful discussions of the inaugural Wellbeing Leaders Forum in November 2024, the Global Wellbeing Foresight is launched as a strategic framework to guide governments, organizations, and communities in redefining wellbeing, provides a roadmap to achieving wellbeing-centered societies by 2030 and beyond, equipping policymakers and stakeholders with actionable insights.
The Global Wellbeing Foresight is built on a foundation of essential principles that recognize wellbeing as a multidimensional and dynamic concept. To create meaningful and lasting impact, it is crucial to adopt an approach that is inclusive, adaptable, and integrated across various sectors. This document highlights five key pillars that serve as guiding principles for policymakers, organizations, and communities in shaping wellbeing-centered societies:
- Holistic Wellbeing: Incorporating physical, mental, emotional, and social health, this framework recognizes the interconnectedness of individual and societal wellbeing.
- Cultural and Contextual Relevance: Advocating for localized policymaking that respects diverse definitions of wellbeing.
- Integration Across Sectors: Embedding wellbeing principles into health, education, economic, and environmental policies.
- Technological and Community-Driven Solutions: Highlighting the power of digital health technologies and grassroots interventions.
- Future-Driven Goals: Aligning with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to create long-term impact.
At its core, The Global Wellbeing Foresight is more than a framework—it is a call for global collaboration. By breaking down systemic barriers and leveraging innovation, governments, organizations, and communities can work together to prioritize health, happiness, and resilience for all. Further, this document synthesizes key insights and recommendations from leading academics, business leaders, policymakers, and grassroots practitioners. It emphasizes flexibility to adapt to cultural contexts while advocating for partnerships across sectors to create tangible, sustainable change.
Now is the time to come together. The Wellbeing Leaders Forum invites policymakers, private sector leaders, wellbeing advocates, and beyond to collaborate in bringing this vision to life. By embracing the principles outlined in this document and working collectively, we can build a future where wellbeing is not just an aspiration but a fundamental pillar of resilient and thriving societies.
